The idea and implementation of the event can be linked to the VinXtuR Travel enterprise , which is a travel agency specialising in introducing and promoting the Tokaj-Hegyalja region.
The following factors inspired them to organise the event:
Cultural Relations
The Governments of Hungary and Türkiye announce a joint “Hungarian-Turkish Cultural Year” in 2024, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The “Rákóczi: Connecting two Nations” event also draws attention to this important historical step, and at the same time, its main goal is to strengthen the friendship between the two nations.
In addition to common roots and cultural ties, many friendships and business connections connect Turkey and Hungary.
Among the historical intersections, II. Ferenc Rákóczi stands out, who is highly respected as a heroic freedom fighter prince in Hungary, was taken in by Türkiye during his escape, and finally died there.
Accordingly, the event pays tribute to the hero, who is clearly one of the important symbols of the friendship and unity of the two peoples as early as the 18th century.
World Famous Cuisine and Wines
The organizers of the event believe that, in addition to the existing relationship elements, a new one should be created, which can be realised through gastronomy.
Turkish cuisine is very popular worldwide, and the same can be said about Tokaj wines.
With the help of experts, some of the masterpieces of the rich Turkish cuisine and the wines of the Tokaj wine region, which also has a very wide selection, have been selected, paired with which the guests will experience aunique harmony of flavors that have never been presented before.
In addition to the creation of new flavor combinations, the fact that Rákóczi was very active in the area of the Tokaj-Hegyalja cannot be overlooked, so the location of the event could not be other than the area and its “capital”, the city of Tokaj,
Summary
All in all, it can be said that the historical and cultural ties and the new initiative to pair premium gastronomic products represented a motivation for VinXtuR that led to the idea and implementation of the event.
And all of this, again emphasized with the aim of creating an even stronger bond between the two nations and forging more, stronger friendships.
